The poster above me probably just didnt understand the limitations of this app. It DOES work, just depends on how much you expect it to be able to do for you to think it doesnt work. No, its not like a wand at the airport. But I turned the sensitivity to max and it works perfect for a stud finder. I tested it on different objects/types of metals to see if it was just a fluke that it seemed to be working, and I can assure you that this app is legit, Unlike some of the other ones I tried. No, you wont find buried treasure with it, but at least it does what it says it does. Worth the $0 it cost for sure
First off im not some developer trying to get people to get there app. This is freaking free and it works so well i was so amazed by this thing its so precise compared to the other ones. It actually works for many many metals but some dont. It also gets affected by electronics so i dont think it detects the metals but the fields emitted from it anyways its pretty sick and does pick up metals like wires in the wall(put it on max sensitivity and do it slowly cuz its sensitive) and cordless phones or other things that can mess with the compass. If u dont believe me what it actually does is use the compass and when it gets messed up it reads it.
Yes, this APP does work!
It only detects small metal, it didnt detect my steel shovel but went crazy when it got close to the steel toe on my work boots. It also worked to find a drywall screws in a wall to help me find the stud, but barely detected my steel desk.
All I can say is that its a hell of a lot better than nothing and free!
I will definitely keep this app on my phone.
Haha maybe obvious but dont bother downloading if you have a metal case.
It really works but it will only work on some things like it said in the app description( or whatever its called) it will only work with magnetic metal.
P.S.
It will not work very well with phone cases.
Worked great! Found two land survey stakes we couldnt find before. Couldnt believe it worked! Glad I found this app!!
Some bad moments
I made a new instalation and this app remain with the same problem, just work one time.
I held it up next to coins, a computer, a big solid steel shelf... nothing happens. The numbers bob up and down *slightly* when you rotate the phone, near metal or not. I have an iphone 4 perhaps metal detection software only works with the 3gs. Oh well at least it was free..
Barely works around metal, even with max sensitivity. Could only get it to work near a magnet. What a shame I dont have magnets in my walls!
On max sensitivity it will detect a hard drive at 0.5 inch away. It cant detect a quarter period.

I dont believe these apps but when I put a nail near my iPhone and it beeped. But also it beeped when I leaned my device.
Same as some others with a 6S, I get constant beeping and reading of 100 with any sensitivity above 10. With sensitivity = 10, I can put it against my pickup bed and only get a reading of 50. Not useful. Downloaded to wifes 5S and it worked much better.
